The summer season is made for soft highlights that look as if your hair has been freshly kissed by the sun. But not all hair textures are so easy to create this natural look. Curly hair, for example, requires a special technique. Those of you who have beautiful curls of hair may be familiar with the problem. Conventional highlights can leave wild zigzag patterns on curly hair so that the structure of the hair does not stringently absorb the color. Now there is a new coloring technique that is supposed to compensate for this mistake - namely Pintura highlighting. We reveal what's behind the new hairstyle trend.
Pintura means "to paint" in German and that is exactly what the hairdresser does with Pintura highlighting. The technique is very similar to balayage. The color is dyed more intensely from the middle of the hair and at the tips than at the roots. This gives the part of the hair that is in motion a richer tone, which gives the hairstyle trend this natural look as if the hair had just been kissed by the sun.
In addition, the hairstylist applies the paintbrush vertically instead of horizontally, as this allows the highlights to be better incorporated into the structure of the curls. The highlights not only look more dramatic, but they also get more dimensionality. In addition, the hairstylist can use this technique to adapt individually to differently structured curls.
Another advantage: With Pintura highlighting, the hairstylist uses handkerchiefs instead of aluminum foil to separate the colored strands from the rest of the hair. In addition to the balayage effect, this also means that the highlights at the roots of the hair appear softer and you can let them grow out without creating a hard approach.
If you have curly hair, you don't necessarily have to change your care routine, as most of them already rely on particularly nourishing shampoos for curly hair. Important: Your products should be free from sulfates and parabens, as these ingredients particularly dry out the hair.
Nevertheless, curly hair definitely needs additional care after dyeing, as it is much more prone to split ends and brittle hair than straight hair. If you want to do something good for your hair in addition to conventional care, you can use a moisturizing mask for your hair once a week.
