Kim Kardashian West just debuted decidedly lighter strands for summer with the help of her go-to hairstylist, Chris Appleton. Appleton took to Instagram this week to show off the reality star's fresh new look, captioning the post, "Who’s into this Light frosted brown for summer?" Kim K. now has a chocolate-y brown hue with a subtle sheen to it. In fact, it almost looks bronze at certain angles, and yes, raises hands we're very much into it.
Millie Bobby Brown
To celebrate the season three premiere of Stranger Things, Millie Bobby Brown walked the red carpet in a pouf of a pink gown tempered by an elegant low ponytail. But as hairstylist Bridget Brager shared on Instagram, the look is business in the front, party in the back. Hidden behind that simple slick is a waistlength ponytail fit for Rapunzel. Jada Pinkett Smith has been rocking a cropped cut as her signature style for quite some time, but she decided to change things up for a new season. "Sun kissed vibez for the summer flex " she wrote in the caption of an Instagram photo introducing her followers to her incredible new blonde braids, which appear to extend far past her shoulders — though she's also probably referring to how her skin has an enviably golden glow, too.

Just days after she hit the BET Awards red carpet with a watered down bob, Ciara turned up in Brooklyn at the opening of WorldPride 2019 festivities in waves that reached down to her waist. Alison Brie is back to brunette. After a brief love affair with bleach, the actress has turned back to her dark roots — with a twist. Whatever the reason for the change-up, we have a feeling Dua's about to make herself one damn good summer memory.

Minka Kelly apparently celebrated her birthday by kicking off the last year of her 30s with a whole new look. The actor has posted a few photos on Instagram suggesting she took the platinum plunge and bleached her signature rich, brown hair a stunning, super-light shade of blonde. Although none of the captions directly address the change, friends and fans are commenting with their whole-hearted approval, comparing her to everyone from Gwen Stefani to Daenerys Targaryen.
Ciara
Ciara just became the latest celebrity to chop her hair above the shoulder. For the 2019 BET Awards, she wore an asymmetrical, blunt bob, styled to look wet. Stylist Cesar Ramirez chose a look with a "tough cool-girl edge," he explained in a statement. "I wanted a length that would sit perfectly just below the chin and compliment the neckline." Jones has been vocal about itching for a bob haircut for some time and she finally got up the nerve for this above-the-shoulder chop. "We’ve been waiting for her (old) bangs to grow long enough to give that perfect blunt bob, middle part look. Patience," explains Brager. "I took out a lot of weight out of her hair (weight = width of hair) without creating layers." The lightweight cut is perfectly on trend — just ask Katy Perry and Charlize Theron, who have also recently made the jump. It may have been a long time coming, but this cut was worth the wait.
Hilary Duff
Hilary Duff is a master of making subtle hair changes that create a major impact. This time around, she decided to get bangs for summer — not always considered the wisest idea during the sweatiest time of year, but with the help of Nine Zero One salon's Nikki Lee, Duff proved it can totally work. "Hilary’s been toying around with the idea of bangs for a few weeks. I just ignored her hoping she would forget about them," the stylist joked. The actress's collarbone-length wavy hair got an update and we've gotta admit — we love it. James took to Instagram to show off her new hair, a cut and color by John MacPherson, which has her rocking a chin-length bob. It was styled straight and pushed behind her ears with the help of Ben Skervin.

Although several guests at the Kylie Skin launch party — like Khloé Kardashian and Nikita Dragun — wore pink hair for the event, Kylie Jenner herself decided to wait to match her hair to her new products for a much more special occasion: picking up some Doritos and cold meds at the gas station. Geri Horner (née Halliwell) is clearly fully committed to the nostalgia factor of the upcoming Spice Girls reunion tour because she made a triumphant return to the red hair so closely associated with her original girl-group look. She posted two L'Oréal-sponsored photos on Instagram declaring "Ginger is back!" and sharing that she used the Preference shade Mango 74. Perhaps we should start calling her Mango Spice?

With her show "Jane the Virgin" about to end and a brand-new marriage to celebrate, 'tis a season of change for actor Gina Rodriguez — and what better way to celebrate than with new hair? Stylist Anh Co Tran and colorist Grace Zip transformed Rodriguez's signature untouched brunette with a light and beachy balayage. The new cut features face-framing layers, which Zip heightens even more with targeted warm blonde highlights.
Katy Perry
Katy Perry's hair is only about three inches long at the moment, but from her latest look, you'd never be able to tell. For the finale of "American Idol," hairstylist Chris Appleton hid Perry's pixie under a shoulder-length, white-blonde wig. The platinum is a few shades lighter and cooler than her current blonde, but Perry looks right at home in the Old Hollywood glam style, complete with soft, movie star waves.
Maisie Williams
Just hours before the series finale of Game of Thrones, Maisie Williams posted a photo to Instagram showing that she was no longer sporting that incredible purple shade she's been wearing since switching from pink. For now, at least, Williams seems to be stepping away from pastels and vivids to try a more natural color — golden blonde — at least for the new M+RC Noir campaign she's starring in.

She bangs — sorry, had to do it. Jessica Chastain updated her lob with a set of bangs that she wore with some tousled texture to an event for X-Men: Dark Phoenix in Mexico City. She quickly switched it up the next day to a straighter style (as you see here) to show the versatility of her fringe.

The Stranger Things actress has had a lob for a while and has been wearing it well. Of course, we're always here for a new look and clearly so is Brown, who turned out to a presser for Godzilla: King of the Monsters in Beijing with her hair pulled into a high pony with a blonde ombré. Her hairstylist Adir Abergel hooked her up with some gorgeous extensions, which he also styled loose and stick-straight for another Godzillapress appearance in Beijing.
Beyoncé
Queen Bey has been loving the super-long, textured, blonde look lately, the style popping up all across the world on last year's On the Run II Tour. But she apparently decided to buck the trend of going lighter for summer because she was seen recently with husband Jay-Z at the NBA's Western Conference Semifinals with a sultry new shade. The (less) long look featured a rich brown contrasted with generous blonde highlights and styled in smooth waves. And, of course, like literally every hairstyle Beyoncé has worn, it looks amazing on her.
Gemma Chan
Sometime between the Met Gala and the after party, Gemma Chan's hair went from brown to pink. Stylist Owen Gould is responsible for the look, as well as for Chan's hair under her fabulous Met Gala headpiece, but he's kept mum on how exactly this color transformation happened so quickly. Our best guess is that he used temporary color spray to achieve the look, which just so happens to be perfectly on trend. Whether the change is permanent or just one evening of rainbow fun, Chan has now joined the pink hair ranks of Taylor Swift, Cardi B, and more.
Ariel Winter
Ariel Winter has been known to sport the occasional wig when she's not on the set of Modern Family, but it looks like her latest hair-color switch is the real deal. She visited colorist Tabitha Dueñas at celeb-frequented salon Nine Zero One, where they lifted her nearly black hair to this gorgeous, natural-looking red. And with her first name and this new look, it's impossible not to compare Winter to The Little Mermaid: "part of yourrrrrr worrrrrld," she wrote in an Instagram caption, alongside mermaid emojis.

If you thought Anne Hathaway's return to her signature brunette shade meant she wouldn't be changing up her hair for a while, think again. Stylist Adir Abergel shared a gorgeous black-and-white photo of Hathaway on April 28 with the caption, "New cut. New vibes," referring to her shoulder-length shag — a shorter, more layered, less polished look for the Oscar winner.

It's official: Rachel Brosnahan no longer resembles her rich-brunette character on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. But recently, social media has been buzzing with fans who are pleasantly surprised that the 76-year-old TV magistrate has debuted a new look. With Coachella due to start next week, it's the perfect time to try that non-traditional color you've been dreaming about — or follow Phillipe's lead and wear them all at once. She stepped out (to sit front row, natch) for Prabal Gurung's fall 2019 show at NYFW with the new fringe, styled by hairstylist Matt Fugate. But before you get too excited about the hair change, it's only temporary. Fugate revealed on Instagram that the bangs are actually clip-ins courtesy of celeb-favorite extensions supplier The Hair Shop. The bangs may not be permanent, but maybe Condor might want to consider the full transformation.
Allison Williams
Over the past few years, Allison Williams has volleyed between her natural medium-brown shade of brunette and various shades of blonde, looking incredible all the while. And although she apparently had intended to stay brunette, a new acting gig had other plans for her. "I swore I wouldn’t do this to my hair again ... but new movie, new hair," Williams wrote in a caption on Instagram that accompanied a photo of her new golden, beachy look. "Back to blonde and back to work."
Rumer Willis
After spending most of 2018 as a blonde bombshell, Rumer Willis kicked off 2019 with a major change. The singer/actress showed off her fresh new cut and dark-brown color on the red carpet at the Screen Actor's Guild awards. Her hair was styled simply — sleek, with a slight sheen, and with one side tucked behind her ear.
Iskra Lawrence
The model and activist was spied on a L'Oréal Paris set rocking a brand-new hue. Gone is Lawrence's signature blonde shade: The 28-year-old is all about gray. She's also apparently all about the bottom line because, as it turns out, the dye is straight from a drugstore. It's the £7 ($9) L'Oréal Paris Colorista in silver gray and it looks stunning on her.
Katherine Langford
13 Reasons Why star Katherine Langford is swapping hair colors along with time zones. She's home in Australia, and recently visited Perth-based salon Circles of Hair for a major shift from brunette to a head-turning copper. Her stylists foiled in the copper highlights, making Langford's color look super bright. We think it suits her beautifully.
Ruby Rose
Although Ruby Rose typically keeps her short hair somewhere in the brunette spectrum, she kicked off 2019 in her homeland of Australia as a platinum blonde. But just before leaving to head back to the U.S., Rose posted a photo of her latest color update: a silvery shade of pastel blue. "Major mood as I say goodbye for another year to all my friends and family back home," she captioned the Instagram photo. She may feel as blue as her hair, but hopefully knowing how gorgeous it looks will cheer her up a bit.
Megan Fox
We're used to seeing Transformers actress Megan Fox with her signature long brown hair, so we did a double take when we peeped this new short blonde style. She was spotted on the set of her upcoming movie, Jangsari 9.15, in which she plays Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist Marguerite Higgins. It's most likely a really good wig, and then we'll be back to seeing her in all her brunette glory.
Chaeyoung of Twice
Chaeyoung, a member of beloved Korean girl group Twice, posted a selfie on Instagram after debuting a brand-new blonde lob at the 2019 Seoul Music Awards. In the caption, she apologized to fans for always shocking them, and we have to admit, we were surprised by the hair transformation, too. Chaeyoung has kept her hair long for several years as she's grown out her bob. Now that she's back to a shorter look, we're excited to see which hair colors she experiments with.
Selma Blair
Selma Blair just went to the short side. The 46-year-old actress cut off her long strands, swapping them for a crisp, new, chin-grazing bob done by Chris McMillan. Blair posted her look on Instagram, writing, "'A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life' — Coco Chanel." She also shared a cute slow-motion clip of McMillan blowing out her hair.
Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga's first major hair transformation of 2019 made its debut at the 2019 Golden Globe Awards. The multi-hyphenate colored her previously platinum hair a soft sky blue, with more intense splashes of the color throughout. Didn't we tell you faded pastels would be everywhere in 2019? And they're even better when you match your dress to them.
Rowan Blanchard
Before attending a Golden Globes after-party, actress Rowan Blanchard announced on her Instagram Story that she'd chopped off all her hair, which had been a shoulder-grazing lob. On the red carpet, she officially showed off her new, Mia Farrow–esque choppy pixie cut.
Isla Fisher
Isla Fisher's red hair may be one of her most famous features, but she's starting off the year with a bold change. She traded her signature auburn for a bright, rooty blonde with lots of highlights. Despite the major shade switch, Fisher kept her hairstyle the same — long and straight with plenty of face-framing layers that are amplified by the new light pieces in front. As she wrote on Instagram, "Go blonde in ‘19 or go home."
