This is how you easily get the supposedly complicated Dutch Braid...
The Dutch braid is only for braiding professionals? Are you kidding me? Are you serious when you say that! With these simple tips, you are guaranteed to succeed! Plus: Cool examples for professionals too...
Dutch braid: This also works for beginners
Do you only wear braided hairstyles as a child or at the Oktoberfest? That was yesterday. In the last five years, in particular, braided hairstyles from accent braids to classics have become increasingly popular - they exude cool boho style and lovely Lolita flair in one. The French plait and the Dutch plait are among the absolute classic hairstyles - and among the plaits that immediately look like something and are still very easy to implement. Plus: You can never go wrong with both braids, both in everyday life and at evening events. After all, they come in many varieties.
In contrast to the French braid, the Dutch braid (sometimes also called the Danish braid) lies on top of the hair – and visually stands out a little. The French braid lies more in the hair and looks woven into it. In the braiding technique, the two braids hardly differ - it's just a small detail.
Tips: To make the hair more manageable, add some texture spray or mousse to the strands before braiding. After braiding, fix the new hairstyle with hairspray.
All you need to do a Dutch braid is some hair braiding practice and proper instructions. For example, once you've mastered hairstyles like the French braid, the Dutch braid isn't difficult at all. Here is our simple introduction:
Hairstyle Guide:
Step 1:
Divide into three sections at the top of the head.
Step 2:
Start braiding. For a side strand
under
put the middle one.
Step 3:
Then from the other side also a strand
under
pass the middle one.
Step 4:
Depending on the side, always add a new strand of hair about one centimeter wide and continue.
Step 5:
Continue braiding to the back of the head and tie a ponytail... OR VARIANTS OF THE BRAIDED HAIRSTYLE: ...twist a bun and secure it with clips! Also possible: finish the braid down to the ends of the hair.
Tip: At the end, pull it apart with pancakes, then the hairstyle will look much more voluminous!
That's how it's done:
Make a deep side part. Then separate three sections on the wider side of the parting in the front section. Start braiding in the Dutch variant and only add a little hair from the top and bottom at a time. The rest of the hair stays open and the braided wreath sits on top of the open hair, so to speak.
That's how it's done:
The herringbone variant is similar to the normal Dutch braid. With a herringbone braid, however, you only separate two sections of hair and always put a thin strand from the outside under the thick strand and so on.
That's how it's done:
Begin the wreath at the temple. Separate three thin strands and braid them backward. Always add hair from the bottom and top, respectively. Continue strand by strand around the whole head and fix at the end with a rubber band. Then thread this under the beginning of the braid and fix it with a clip.
That's how it's done:
As usual, braid a Dutch braid starting at the side and working backward – to the ends of the hair. Then twist the ends into a cord and pin loosely with clips. The noble hairstyle is ready!
That's how it's done:
Separate three strands at the forehead and start braiding. Always add hair from below and above. Now either start another braid from the other side and tie it into a braid at the back of your head, or braid the side braid around your neck and then let it end in a normal side ponytail.
That's how it's done:
Pull the middle parting and first separate three strands on the left. Then braid a Dutch braid from front to back and secure with a rubber band. Repeat the same on the right side.
That's how it's done:
If you have short hair, you can also do a Dutch braid. You limit yourself to the upper part and leave the lower hair open. For this look, part in the middle and then braid two mini braids from the front to the back. It becomes an eye-catcher with the currently popular croissants and glitter roots.
