Vanessa Hudgens has just made her debut hosting the Oscars Red Carpet Show ahead of Oscars 2022, and of course, she looked stunning while doing it. But see for yourself.

The 33-year-old actress walked the red carpet in a black Michael Kors Collection dress that featured cutouts and was embellished with sequins. Gorgeous emerald jewelry added an elegant touch, but it was her elaborate updo that made her the absolute showstopper.

Anyone who sees the likeness of Audrey Hepburn here is spot on because that was the goal: "We went for a twisted Audrey Hepburn updo as a nod to classic Hollywood and Vanessa's modern style," Hudgens' hairstylist Danielle Priano tells Glamour. "Collaborating with Vanessa is an artist's dream - she is always so excited to bring our proposed references and ideas to life."

High Bun: How to style Vanessa Hudgens' hairstyle from the 2022 Oscars

Vanessa Hudgens' hairstyle may look straight out of a black-and-white movie, but it's surprisingly easy to style at home. Priano first prepped Hudgens' hair. "I used invisible clip-ins that are lightweight and not bulky to achieve a sleek, straight look," she says. She placed these further back at the top of Hudgens' head, in the direction that her bun should be.

Then Priano added the Volumizing & Texturizing Powder to "fluff up the hair a bit and tie the extensions to the hair so it all blended together seamlessly." After applying that to the crown of her head, she pulled the rest of her hair back into a tight ponytail.

"We then twisted inch sections of the ponytail into a textured bun. We pinned it and used Hair Spray & Volumizing Hairspray to hold the bun and hair in place," says Hudgens, who helped create the look by Danielle Priano to tame flyaways. Only then did the actress hit the red carpet.
