According to Gigi Hadid: This is the most important hair color trend for blondes in spring 2022.
Between luxurious brunette nuances and silky dark hair: The hair color trends for spring are actually already set because the fashion world is absolutely unanimous as to which nuances will be hip in 2022. However, there is now a last-minute hair color trend - and it could even become one of the most important of the new season. This is inspired by supermodel Gigi Hadid, who wowed us last year with her hair color change to copper nuances. But the red hair is history as the model presented this surprising shade of blonde on the Burberry and Ralph Lauren runway...
Gigi Hadid has long been the style template for an elegant and natural honey blonde - until the supermodel suddenly switched to reddish copper nuances last year. In spring 2022, Gigi Hadid inspires again with a radical type of change and it is now even a little more extravagant. Because the model relies on the lightest of all blonde nuances - namely platinum blonde.
This is a true classic, but lately, it has often found itself in competition with slightly more natural blonde shades that look effortless, are easier to maintain, and don't need to be touched up quite as often. Gigi Hadid is now bringing the light blonde nuance back onto our trend radar and proving that blonde can look super glamorous. Especially in a duet with long hair, which is gathered into a high ponytail or bun for a sleek look. With short hairstyles like choppy bob and pixie, on the other hand, the hair color trend gets an edgy touch that makes platinum blonde look very modern.
Gigi Hadid isn't the only one pushing platinum blonde into trend status this spring. Because the light nuances have already been seen on the catwalks of Chanel, Alberta Ferretti, or Max Mara and this once again predicts that the platinum blonde hair color trend will be very big this year. We also noticed that platinum blonde 2022 looks particularly effortless - because the hair color was complemented by reduced, natural make-up looks on the catwalk and refined with a soft, slightly warm finish.
Platinum doesn't have to (but it can!) look quite so icy, but can be prettied up with warm undertones – suitable for the warm season. This makes the hair color trend look a little powderier and also goes wonderfully with a sun-kissed complexion. But even with warm undertones, platinum blonde should never look yellow! We, therefore, recommend the regular use of silver shampoos or masks, which neutralize annoying discoloration and give the hair a clear, silvery shine.
And: Moisturizers and restorative masks (e.g. with keratin, hyaluronic acid, oils, etc.) are mandatory for colored hair. Platinum blonde in particular needs an extra portion of moisture and tends to have a damaged structure due to the necessary bleaching. It is all the more important to take care of your hair every day to prevent brittle ends and frizz.
