Iris Law, Dior's new beauty ambassador, has always had an experimental, playful approach to beauty. She talks to beauty editor Hannah Coates about blush, ASMR, and squats.
It's an amazing feeling. Dior is such an iconic brand and I am really honored. Beauty has always been a great passion of mine since I started wearing makeup. I've always loved experimenting with different formulas and colors. I feel like the Dior looks perfectly sum up how I like to look - the freshness and the berry pinks. It feels like it all fits together so I'm very happy.
During the day, I prefer fresh, natural looks, but I'm also very keen to experiment with eyeshadows and colors - especially when I was younger. My trademark is light blush - I apply lipstick and match it to my blush. I apply it on my nose, in my waterline, and between the eye and ear, and right on the edge of my cheek to lift it up. My perfect blush is the Dior blush in color 999 because I've never found a blush that shines like lipstick (that's why I've always used lipstick as a blush), but this product is so perfect because it really is emitted bright color. I love it.

I haven't worn much makeup since the lockdown, but I think that's a nice experience for me. Having struggled with acne for a long time, I had gotten into the habit of putting on make-up to cover up my scars and blemishes. But now I feel like I've gotten so used to seeing her every day that I no longer have complexes about it. When I start using makeup again it will be a lot more fun and experimenting instead of trying to look like I have perfect skin.
At the moment my bed is facing the window. That's really nice because it prevents me from checking my phone in the morning. When I wake up, the first thing I do is light candles and use the diffuser next to my bed that I love. You can get really great oils - there are ones for hormones, for calming down, and with lemon for the morning. I usually use lemon oil in the morning and then get up to make myself some tea, then go back to bed to drink it. I created this nice routine during lockdown - it really affects my day in a positive way.
In the mornings, I use rose water and the Dior Hydra Life Micellar Water with sustainable and reusable bamboo pads instead of wasting tons of cotton pads. I use a moisturizer - the Dior Hydra Life Fresh Hydration Sorbet Crème - and then an eye cream. I use the Dior Hydra Life Glow Better Mask three times a week, which is really amazing because it's quick and easy to use - I put it on and let it sit while I brush my teeth. When you put on a mask, you sit down and don't feel like getting up and washing it off, but since this mask only takes three minutes you can use it in the morning when you brush your teeth. It's great because it also contains an exfoliator that really makes me glow. I use them before shoots or when I know I'll be wearing makeup.
Die wiederverwendbaren Make-Up Remover Pads von Wild&Stone.I find that skincare can be a really nice part of the day where you focus and take care of yourself. In the evenings I try to turn it into a calming ritual that lets me come down after a busy day.
My boyfriend and I always watch a series before going to sleep. At the moment we're watching "One Piece", which is an anime. There are around 900 episodes. It's so colorful and fun ... we're around episode 400. But sometimes I also hear soothing nightly meditations and I listened to ASMR to help me fall asleep. There's this girl on YouTube who calls herself ASMR Darling. I don't know why, but it just works!
Witch hazel. It really helped me when I had acne because it doesn't irritate the skin and has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. It makes me feel clean and fresh, and sometimes I just use it all day. I also love rose water.
On every picture, I post people always ask what lipstick I'm wearing, and it's always a different combination of the Dior Lip Tattoo with the Lip Cherry Oil Gloss on top.

At the beginning of the lockdown, I literally couldn't train. I find it really hard to work out from home. I like running on a treadmill, spinning, and hot yoga - I usually use ClassPass in the city I'm in to do these things. I tried to run outside and it hurt my knees, that was pretty annoying, but now I have a nice little routine. I do a little workout in the morning where I do exercises that I remember from classes and different workouts. I also have a zoom class with my friend's mom and her friends where we do 100 squats every two days in the morning.
I have received great advice from various make-up artists over the years. The advice I would give to younger people - and it sounds like I was obsessed with blush now - but when I was younger I used to only use concealer and foundation, and that's not very youthful. I feel like the younger generation is forgetting about blush, but I think it looks totally fresh and playful while being chic and timeless at the same time.

When I feel like I'm lost in a rut, my friend encourages me to go for a walk. It makes me feel better and better, because no matter what city you are in, you always see something different - be it a café or a puppy. I also like to cook because it is very satisfying and meditative and I knit or read. But sometimes, when you're feeling really down, it's really hard to be productive ... I think it's important not to judge yourself for it.
I love pretty much any good hair oil or deep conditioner. When I'm at home, I always condition my hair with all of these oils and braid them into a braid. If you blow-dry or straighten your hair often, I really recommend using this lockdown to give your hair some time off and take extra good care of it. I use argan oil and black castor oil. In Turkey I bought garlic oil which is really amazing for scalp health and can also stimulate hair growth, I highly recommend it. I leave the oil on all day, sometimes overnight, and then wash it off the next day.
