We've already learned a lot from the French women. Thanks to its perfect mix of chic and unaffected, the style de Paris is in great demand in terms of both fashion and beauty. And so it is no wonder that the next hairstyle trend is again based on the French zeitgeist. The French chop is the most beautiful variant of the bob hairstyle in summer 2021 and is, of course, wonderfully casual and feminine at the same time.
The original French chop probably has its origin in the film "The fabulous world of Amélie" and requires a hair length that, like Audrey Tautou's back then, settles somewhere between the cheekbones and chin. But especially the longer version of the bob hairstyle is now establishing itself as a hairstyle trend and will give its wearer a carefree chic in summer 2021, as we would expect from a trend from France anyway.

So if you don't want to go for an ultra-short bob, as dictated by the film classic, you only have to consider one thing with the hairstyle trend: The French chop is cut to a length and should reach no more than the shoulders, French women (and everyone other trendsetters) prefer to wear it up to the chin. It is important that the tips float freely and do not rest on the shoulders so that the blunt-cut edges of the bob are clearly visible.
The look is particularly beautiful when the hair is worn in light waves, which further emphasize the laissez-faîre look. The Parisian star stylist Rudy Martins told Whowhatwear: "Most French women had this haircut as a child - often cut by their mothers." And this is exactly what the hairstyle trend in summer 2021 can look like: playful and girlish, at the same time elegant and sophisticated - without looking too hard. A bit like cut yourself.
Keira Knightley wore the French chop (even if it wasn't called that back then, of course) back in 2011 - which suggests that the hairstyle trend is much more than just a style for one season.
