The bob is once again one of the most important trend hairstyles of 2021 - and not without reason, after all, the short haircut ensures a modern, elegant look and says goodbye to frayed tips. If you still don't want to part with so many inches and prefer to wear your hair long, you can now opt for nifty layers or a casual pony: In the guide, we explain which hairstyle trends for long hair in Winter 2021 are super hip - and which looks, on the other hand, are considered a bit outdated and out.
One of the biggest changes that happened to our hair in 2021? Straight, compact blunt cuts, in which the hair ends exactly on one length, were quickly replaced by stepped haircuts. Layers celebrated a big comeback and will be the topic for long hair at least until the end of 2022. The hairstyle trend towards choppy layers is particularly modern here. The steps are cut unevenly, fringed, and emphasized angular so that they are clearly visible. Especially in the front section of hair that plays around the face, choppy layers have a super beneficial effect and optimally emphasize the contours. Haircuts that end in one length and are also known as one-length cuts, on the other hand, look a bit boring - choppy layers now just make long hair more bouncy.
If you don't like it that fringy, you can also opt for the hairstyle trend towards hidden layers in winter 2021. The steps are worked into the hair so ingeniously that they nestle almost invisibly against the forehead. This gives the long mane more volume, a little more movement, and falls over the shoulder in soft, barely visible layers. Even thick hair can be thinned out with the new haircut and immediately feels a bit airier and less flat. On the other hand, the classic V-haircut will be traded as absolutely out in 2022. With this, the hair is cut in such a way that it becomes longer and longer towards the back and the tips taper in a V-shape. The hair falls beautifully as a result, but the haircut is now just a bit too asymmetrical and old-fashioned for us.
Without a pony? Nothing works this year, because forehead fringes are now celebrating a huge comeback. Right at the top of the trendsetters' wish list is of course the curtain fringe, which also looks super classy in a duet with long hair and completely changes the look with just a few silhouette cuts. As a reminder: The curtain fringe is a long pony that reaches the temples and is combed from the middle part of the forehead. While this look is currently in great demand, side ponies will finally be out in winter 2021. Especially in combination with long hair, these simply no longer look contemporary and are therefore replaced by curtain bangs, which are reminiscent of the effortlessly elegant style of French women and now give your Rapunzel mane a pretty trend update.
