The Frosted tips are this bleached balayage that was all the rage on the heads of boy bands in the 90s. In 2021, women are adopting it to sublimate the ends of their hair with subtlety and nostalgia. Vintage coloring but in tune with the times.
Fashion from the 90s and 2000s still sets the tone. This wind of nostalgia, which took hold several seasons ago, continues. Each month has its batch of vintage novelties straight out of a forgotten closet! In the spring, the Y2K gave back its letters of nobility to the shiny and metallic make-up which reigned between the two millennia.
In the fall of 2021, an unexpected hair color trend is making a big comeback: "frosted tips" which can be translated as frosted tips.
Between the years 90-2000, this was THE color for men. Boys bands, actors, sportsmen… Not a single star does not appear without this singular style. The tips are discolored and the hair is lifted with gel. The very light blond then creates a strong demarcation with the roots which remain dark. Copied even in the playgrounds, the "hedgehog" cut is then the trend of the moment.
As surprising as it may sound, this iconic fade is rising from the ashes. If last year it made a shy comeback with men, in 2021 it is applied to the hair of women.
A hairdresser explains to Popsugar: "We've seen a real comeback in nostalgic hair trends. They're cooler than ever." He says, "One look that excites me is the 'frosted tips'. It's not just a 90s boy band look, it's the new hair color for cool girls."
The expert assures her: "We will see her shine everywhere this season because she is incredibly versatile". This discoloration adapts to all hair bases to form "a beautiful lighter or inverted gradient and thus create a dynamic color".
So forget the tie and dye or the classic sweep that colors the hair along its entire length. Here, the coloring is placed on a few strands and it is only present to enhance the ends. Enough to honor the hedgehog peaks in a completely new and modernized way.
