White tea: Healthy and rejuvenating effect of the beauty booster

What is white tea?

White tea is considered the finest and oldest type of tea in the world. The tea leaves are processed particularly gently - this means that the tea retains its original taste and ingredients. The processing of the white tea takes place through a simple but special process. The tea leaves are not rolled or cut so that they oxidize as little as possible. It almost always comes from the two regions of Zhenghe and Fuding, which extend from the north to the northeast of Fujian Province.

How is white tea made?

For white tea, the unopened buds with fine, silvery leaf fluff and sometimes the two youngest, delicate leaves are picked in spring. The most exquisite variety consists entirely of leaf buds. The tea leaves have not yet formed any chlorophyll, which is why white tea is one of the mildest types of tea. Its light taste sets it apart from black or traditional teas as it does not oxidize or curl. It is not for nothing that white tea is said to have been the darling of the Chinese royal family and to have been made for the first time in the Tang dynasty, in which only the emperor could drink such a holy drink, which has so many benefits.

What does white tea do for our skin?

There are many treatments that attempt to rejuvenate the skin from an invasive (internal) position, but Fujian white tea offers a unique approach. Its high concentration of antioxidants helps protect the skin and prevent premature aging. One cup of white tea is the equivalent of twelve glasses of orange juice, as it contains three times as many polyphenols (antioxidants that fight free radicals) as green tea.

Since white tea is not fermented, it retains the healing properties of its catechins (tannins, a type of antioxidant) and can actively have a rejuvenating effect. That is, it contributes to the formation of collagen and elastin, two of the most important proteins in the epidermis. White tea also repairs and heals skin tissues that have been damaged by acne breakouts or blemishes, and protects the skin from UV rays.

What are the other benefits of white tea?

White tea has many body benefits that we should know about. It contains a lot of fluoride and potassium. The minerals zinc, iron, calcium, and sodium are also found. Fluoride can serve in eliminating bacteria on the teeth, its antiviral properties boost the immune system. A cup of white tea reduces the risk of heart disease, and its consumption lowers blood cholesterol. In addition, it is one of the skincare products you should know about in 2021.

How do you drink white tea?

Unlike red or black tea, white tea can be consumed on a daily basis. It is recommended to drink it in the morning as this is when our body absorbs it best. We're talking about 15 to 20 mg per day. However, its consumption should be limited and approved by a doctor when it comes to pregnant women, children under six, infants, hypertensive patients, and people with anemia.
