Gigi Hadid and many other supermodels swear by Mimi Luzon's skincare tips
Perhaps you have never heard the name of the Israeli beautician Mimi Luzon, but the likelihood that you have already seen the result of her work on many smiling faces is quite high. Supermodels like Gigi and Bella Hadid, Kaia Gerber, Irina Shayk, and Sara Sampaio swear by their facials. Luzon also developed the 24-carat gold mask, which is now known worldwide and can be seen repeatedly on famous faces on Instagram.

"I believe in the three 'diamonds'," she explains on the phone. "That means good craftsmanship, good products, and good equipment. When I started [as a beautician] over 30 years ago, I was obsessed with equipment for my treatments, but now I know that all three factors combine to produce the best results. " She mentions the Alma laser, which, among other things, rejuvenates the skin and reduces redness, as well as other lasers, radio frequency, IPL, and tools that she combines with high-quality care products and her professional hands to ultimately offer facial treatments of the highest quality.
She uses her hands to remove impurities and blackheads, apply products and massage them. In doing so, she uses a technique that has evolved over the years. "Many years ago my massage technique was more stimulating, but now I use 'effleurage' [stroking movements warms up the muscles before working the deep tissue] to soothe the skin as the devices are responsible for the stimulation; mine Hands provide relaxation and help reduce wrinkles. " Luzon uses the effleurage technique from the forehead down to the heart area, ensuring that the neck and décolleté are also well cared for.
She also says that with anti-aging skin treatment with excellent facials (which include various non-invasive devices) and top quality products, "one can bypass one [plastic] procedure and many injections like fillers." Due to Covid-19 and various lockdowns, she had to say goodbye to her jet-set lifestyle and break new ground in terms of skincare. She sent her customers beauty products and zoomed in to explain how to use them. "I miss the personal contact," says Luzon. The people she treats, she explains, are like friends, which in her opinion is why so many models come to her - it's a close-knit community, they all talk to each other, and nothing sells a service like that good as word of mouth.

She came up with the idea of developing skincare with gold when her customers were looking for products with real results. They were willing to spend money on luxury skincare, but also wanted to make sure that something was actually happening to their skin - not an easy task as most products take a long time to tell the difference. In search of a product that would meet her needs, she began to delve into concentrated formulas and eventually hired a laboratory to make a mask out of pure gold after seeing its glow at a beauty fair in Hong Kong would have. "They told me that it was very expensive and that it should be used as flakes or [gold] dust... but I wanted it in its pure form," she says.

When she combined the gold leaf with her anti-wrinkle mask (which is full of firming peptides), she found that it stimulated the skin, improved collagen production, and had a lifting effect. "Besides, it's gold, and every woman loves gold!" She says and laughs. In addition, your gold mask is easy to use: First, you apply the cream mask, and then you press the gold leaf on it. The result is remarkable and the product has long been a bestseller - not because of the many likes on Instagram, but because it really works.
Luzon told us how we can take care of our skin during the lockdown. Here are her four best home care tips.
"I am convinced that everyone can take care of their own skin, provided they have the right products. Many derma cosmetic brands now offer good products with acids. You can use lactic acid in a low concentration (around 3.5 Percent) and then increase it to 10 percent. The same goes for glycolic acid. Start with a low concentration and then move to a higher percentage [when your skin is used to it]. You will see great results."
"People are often afraid to use a mask or say they don't have time for it. Years ago I was at a big conference and I learned that Japanese women use one mask every day. I wear a different one every day myself Mask on. You can buy all kinds of masks and experiment with them. One only leaves it on for five minutes and you see an effect if it is well concentrated, many other masks can even be used overnight. "
"Look at skincare and beauty products like a game. Try a lot and don't be afraid to combine things, for example, serums. Imagine mixing a cocktail! Let your creativity run free. "
"There are so many home skincare tools out there, but even I often just use cold spoons and place them on my eyes [to reduce swelling]."
