The good old permanent wave from long-forgotten days may optically be a hairstyle trend again - but our hair is by no means happy about the chemical club, which changes its structure and leaves the strands brittle. In addition, the small, classic angel curls have had their day (they are just too reminiscent of Wolfang Petry...).
Instead, the perm is now worn in big, glamorous Hollywood waves or as casual beach waves. The new forming technology Nuwave makes the change possible for every hair type - and will become a gentle hairstyle trend in autumn 2021.
Casual beach waves or glamorous waves: How often do women with super straight hair stand in front of the bathroom mirror and twist one curl after the next - usually without much success. Just a few minutes later, the shallow Beach Waves unhooked again and all the work was in vain. But now rescue is in sight! There is now a technology that gives hope: The new forming technology Nuwave from Goldwell is a modern type of permanent wave that gives structure, conjures up momentum and elasticity, and lasts for up to three months.
The gentle, semi-permanent treatment is particularly suitable for fine, medium-length hair, but - unlike the classic perm - it can even be used on damaged or bleached hair. In addition, Nuwave has another advantage: The method does not create an unsightly curl approach that has to slowly grow out and that reveals that you may have created with your angelic curls. Instead, the beach waves slowly weaken over time, creating a much more natural transition that eventually disappears on its own.
Semi-permanent beach waves that last up to three months but are gentle on your hair? That would have been inconceivable in the past. The specially developed Nuwave Smart Control Bond System causes a carefree reshaping process that does not open the entire hair structure, but rather creates as many bridges as necessary to achieve a great result. The shaping lotion activates the open bridges and brings the hair into the wave that it should keep at the end.
This is followed by a replenishing serum that gives the hair additional keratin, panthenol, and amino acids during the treatment to rebuild its bonds and strengthen it. A sealing fluid ends the perm, closes the bridges, and makes the beach waves last for up to three months.
"There has never been such a service in the hairdressing industry," says Jesús Rodriguez, Lead Expert Hair Goldwell & KMS. "It creates a structure that is durable and yet remains flexible."
