Jennifer Lopez's new hairstyle in the In The Morning video has a hypnotic effect.
Jennifer Lopez ended 2020 with a rocking New Years' gig and started 2021 with an even more fabulous staging. Today the singer released her new music video for "In The Morning" on Triller, and it's a fashion fantasy full of designer labels. The video will be published on other streaming platforms on Friday.
The surreal video was styled by Lopez 'longtime stylists Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn and incorporates the glamorous aesthetic typical of the trio. Lopez plays an angel who was sent and happened to have an exquisite taste in couture. The film begins with Lopez floating in a heavenly space wearing a pastel-colored dress by Iris van Herpen that moves in the wind - no, rather, dancing. In another scene, she is lying on a bed wearing a crystal dress by Augusto Manzanares, a Peruvian designer, paired with dramatic "Mother Plucker" wings. She also wears the wings solo, with nothing underneath - as our colleague Janelle Okwodu notes, this moment is an allusion to a photoshoot that J.Lo did with photographer Tony Turan in 1999.
Chris Appleton was responsible for the fairytale hairstyles and David Velasquez for the make-up in the video, which can be found on Instagram via @mugopus. For the beauty look, the native Mexican used products from Chanel and Dior but also from Laura Mercier and of course the new products from the singer's own beauty line, JLoBeauty.

"It's full of symbolism about a dark, one-sided relationship and the realization that you can't change anyone else ... you can only change yourself," wrote Lopez about the stylish video concept on Instagram. "Let yourself grow your own wings and get away from anyone or anything that doesn't really appreciate what you have to offer." By adorning herself with the best designer clothes, J.Lo shows how much she values herself.

Fashion highlights of the music video
Other standout moments in the video are a white dress by designer Marco Marco, a glamorous aluminum foil look consisting of a metallic Graham Cruz top, and a matching lever couture skirt. The singer even plays a high-fashion mermaid who supposedly swims through the air in a silver top by Manuel Albarran and an Iggy Soliven fishtail.
However, the best shot of all comes towards the end of the video. Lopez appears in a layered, feathered Valentino coat that is several feet high and clad in a Marianna Harutunian crystal mask. Harutunian is a jewelry designer who has also made custom orders for Lady Gaga. Because the only thing that is even better than J.Lo is an impressive J.Lo.
