A skincare expert reveals which basic things are important when caring for different skin types.
Using the right care products is essential for beautiful skin. But do you even know what type of skin you have and what specific needs your skin has? There are roughly three skin types: oily skin, dry skin, and combination skin. The T-zone of our face, i.e. forehead, nose, and chin, provides clues.
Cleansing your face is the first step in any beauty routine.
For example, oily skin has a shiny T-zone. People with this skin type also tend to have thick hair, darker complexions, and thicker skin. Those with dry to combination skin, on the other hand, have lighter hair, paler skin, and less body hair.
María Violante, founder of the beauty brand Remedios del Bosque, explained to us what optimal skincare for different skin types looks like.
The skincare expert María Violante recommends a morning and evening beauty routine consisting of the following steps. First clean your face in the morning with a cleansing product (or just with warm water) to remove excess oil on the skin, then massage your face with an ice cube to close the pores and prevent the skin from becoming sensitive later responds to care products. For oily skin, a facial toner that has an astringent effect (e.g. with rose, tea tree, rosemary, or cedar) and a sunscreen that does not cause blemishes and provides the skin with moisture is also suitable.
The evening routine should consist of a cleansing product, a clay mask (two to three times a week), and cream with hyaluronic acid to nourish the skin and prevent wrinkles.
Anyone with oily or combination skin can use a clay mask two to three times a week.
In the morning, a product should be used that cleanses the skin and at the same time provides a lot of moisture. This can also be followed by an ice massage to tighten the skin. Then the skin should be cared for with cream and protected with sunscreen with sun protection factor 50.
In the evening, the face can be washed with moisturizing cleansing milk made from almond or rose oil. This is followed by a mask two to three times a week (the richer the better) and a toner that provides the skin with even more moisture. Finally, a serum and a nourishing cream are applied and you're done. Your skin will thank you.
