Want ultra-smooth and shiny hair? Here is how to do it.
Right now, sleek and shiny hair is all the rage on Instagram. Many celebrities have also fallen for the hair trend of "Liquid hair" which can be translated as "glass hair".
Straight hair is good, sleek shiny hair is even better. Moreover, it is the trend of the moment. Having the shiniest hair possible has become the hair obsession of many stars and influencers. Fortunately, it is possible to achieve the same result at home.
A trend already known
This isn't the first time we've seen the ultra-shiny hair trend take off. "Glass hair" became fashionable in 2018 with sleek bobs (smooth squares) taking over from wavy, textured hair out of the beach.
A trend that is renewing itself
Unlike the crisp, leaf-like stiffness that characterized the “liquid hair” style, a new interpretation has emerged today. The difference? Silky, straight hair is just a little softer. In addition, the look promotes fluid movement with a lot of shine as it catches the light.
Allure magazine asked hairstylist Hollie Rose Clarke how to achieve the look. For long-lasting shiny smoothing, she recommends a keratin treatment in the salon. "The smoothing treatment eliminates frizz, fixes color, and reduces drying time for up to 12 weeks," she explains
Treatment, the essential step
Expert Clarke is a fan of the 72Hair Treatment, a salon treatment designed to penetrate all hair types to actively condition them. "The treatment can be tailored to give you the results you want," she explains.
Adapt the technique to your hair
“If you want a smoother finish, you blow-dry the treatment on the hair and don't wash it for 72 hours. If you have curls and like them but want to eliminate frizz, then blow-dry the treatment on them. hair and you wash it off after 24 hours, leaving you with beautiful curls without the frizz."
Recreate a smooth hair
"It contains traces of formaldehyde," she confirms. Lots of brands use this ingredient to create straight hair. This makes your hair look pristine again."
The first steps
In terms of the process, “Step one: The hair is washed with a clarifying shampoo to open the cuticles,” explains Clarke. “Second step: the treatment is applied and acts for 35 to 45 minutes.
Step number 3
Third step: the treatment is dried with a hairdryer in the hair.
And step four: Very small sections of hair are taken and straightened with a flat iron, seven to 10 times each. ”After that, you will have to stick to mild, sulfate-free shampoos and conditioners.
