Accurate praise has had its day: the trend hairstyle is now on the layered version, which looks particularly casual (see Cynthia Rowley, Fall/Winter 2020/2021)
This season we noticed one hairstyle on the runways again and again: the shaggy lob. The casual version of the long bob cut was the secret star at the shows for spring and summer 2021. We explain who the trendy haircut suits and how to style the hair correctly.
Basically, the long bob, the praise, is a longer version of the familiar bob. It usually ends between the collarbone and the shoulder. For a so-called shag cut, on the other hand, the hair is cut very gradually. The different levels are uneven and appear so fringed and always a little undone. A pony also looks very nice with a shag - especially if it is worn extra-long and blends in nicely with the layers of the hair. If you now combine both haircuts with each other, you get the currently hottest hairstyle, the shaggy lob - a heavily layered long bob.

As a trend hairstyle, the shaggy lob flatters almost every face shape. Wavy or slightly curly hair are the best prerequisites for a perfectly fitting shaggy lob, so that simple swirling is enough to create a wild look. But straight hair can also be quickly transformed into a cool shaggy lob. Thick hair should be thinned out a bit beforehand so that it falls nicely. This fringed cut gives thin hair a significant volume upgrade.

The perfect styling for shaggy praise? Clearly: undone. As with the shag cut by rock stars in the 70s and 80s, elaborate hairstyling is not desirable with this haircut.
If you already have a natural wave or light curls, you can simply let your hair air dry after washing or blow-dry it over your head with a diffuser. Straight hair can benefit from texturizing products such as a foam that is put into damp hair or salt spray that is sprayed onto dry lengths. With a curling iron or straightening iron, individual strands can be curled to finalize the effortless look of the trendy hairstyle. Important: brush out the curls a little afterward, otherwise they will look too perfect.
