Casual and a touch androgynous: the boyfriend bob is an uncomplicated trend hairstyle (seen here at Coperni, Spring/Summer 2021)
First of all: No, the "Boyfriend" in Boyfriend Bob does not mean that we are now based on the haircut of our loved one. Rather, the name of the new trend hairstyle is an allusion to the casualness that the look should convey. Similar to boyfriend jeans. Or the oversized boyfriend blazer. Or the XL shirt, which we like to borrow. As a trend in 2021, the boyfriend bob is probably one of the most uncomplicated bob hairstyles that we have seen in recent months and years.

What makes the boyfriend bob a trend? The sharp edges create an androgynous look. The bob has no steps and ends uniformly on one length. The hairstyle comes into its own when it is particularly smooth. As a hairstyle trend, the boyfriend bob can also be worn voluminously and with waves. The length of the hair varies depending on personal preferences and face shape and can range from the chin to the collarbone.

As simple as the trend hairstyle is, the boyfriend bob can still be styled in many ways. The edgy look works equally well with the middle and side parting. If you like, you can simply flip the front strands to one side and thus reinforce the casual look of the trendy hairstyle. And if you want more volume, you can either style your hair in Beach Waves or blow-dry it straight over your head and then apply volume spray to the roots of your hair. Salt spray in the tips enhances the undone look and makes the boyfriend bob look even edgier.
