Dandruff makes your life hard. In addition to not being aesthetic, these skin scales testify to the poor health of your scalp. While there are two types of dandruff, the ones that are present in curly hair are dry dandruff. White in color, they are easily detached from the scalp and hair. This type of dandruff is regularly accompanied by itching. People with afro hair should take into account their particularly dry nature. It would be a shame to treat dandruff if it was to dry out the hair even more. So, you have to adopt a quite different routine from people with smoother hair.

Wash your hair regularly

When you have very dry and frizzy hair, it is tempting to space your hair as much as possible, hoping to avoid damaging it too much. However, it is important to wash them at least 2-3 times a week to remove any built-up dirt, sweat, styling residue, and bacteria that can cause scalp irritation. Prefer an anti-dandruff shampoo that you leave on for 5 minutes so that the active ingredients can act in depth. As soon as you notice the first effects, you can alternate with a classic mild shampoo. As you go, you can space your shampoos. For an effective anti-dandruff shampoo, check its composition. Zinc pyrithione, piroctone olamine, selenium sulfide, or even salicylic acid must be included in the formulation. These active ingredients are both antifungal, antiproliferative, and anti-inflammatory, the perfect cocktail to free the hair from dandruff.

Massage your scalp

In addition to offering you a moment of relaxation, the hair massage will increase the blood circulation of your scalp. Thus, this massage will help your lymphatic drainage and improve the growth of your hair. When it comes to dandruff, the circular movements help remove dead cells and dander from your scalp. To achieve an effective hair massage, start at the front of your head and work your way down to the back of your neck in small circular movements. Press lightly when you make the circle and then release the pressure so as not to attack your scalp too much.

Preferably, this massage is to be carried out on dry hair. But you can also massage your scalp while shampooing to help lather it up. This technique will allow you to effectively remove dirt and residue on the surface. Use the pads of your fingers to perform this massage and apply the same gestures as if you were doing it on dry hair.

Reduce your stress

Stress is a major factor in the development of dandruff. If you tend to get dandruff easily, it could be due to your genes, stress will increase the flaking of your scalp and thus the number of dandruff you will have in your hair. So you have to try to reduce your stress, which is much easier said than done. A good way to start to relax is to take time for yourself, to do activities that appeal to you, whether it is reading, painting, a trip to the spa, or a workout.
