In order for a cure to care for the hair, it must contain certain active ingredients. Quark and yoghurt, for example, contain milk protein, which is similar to keratin - the natural building block of hair. The egg yolk contains lecithin, a fat-like substance that cares for the hair fiber from the outside and protects it from drying out. Vegetable oils and waxes such as almond, wheat germ, or jojoba oil also provide you with valuable lipids. The hair becomes shiny and supple.
Henna powder in its color-neutral variant is also suitable for hair treatments, as the ingredients strengthen the hair shaft. So if you want to take care of your hair regularly, you don't have to dig deep into your pockets and you can do without any form of chemistry. The recipes that we show you (apart from the variant with henna) are even edible!
However, there is one thing you should keep in mind if you want to make a hair treatment yourself: The mixed mixtures can only be kept for about a day. You should use up leftovers within this time and keep them in the refrigerator until then.
The lecithin in the egg yolk acts as an oil and protects the hair from dryness. The milk protein in yogurt provides moisture.
