Everyone is crazy about the 90s look of the style icon Pamela Anderson - we are especially re-styling her updo in spring...
Thanks to the airing of the Hulu biopic Pam & Tommy, which follows the life of Pamela Anderson and her husband Tommy Lee, the Canadian-American actress is back on everyone's lips -- or at least her style in the '90s. In addition to thin eyebrows and blue eye shadow, we were particularly taken with her iconic updo, which not only actress Lily James, who plays Pamela in the series, wears, but also stars and it-girls like Kim Kardashian or Dua Lipa.
No wonder the Pammy updo is so popular, it fits perfectly with the Y2K aesthetic that we've been hooked on for the last year. Also, the style is messy, and relaxed but also incredibly sexy and cool at the same time. In fact, the hashtag #pamelaandersonhair has already garnered over 6.3 million views on TikTok where updo tutorials are posted.
As the name suggests, the updo consists of an updo style, i.e. only part of the hair is pinned up, and the rest falls loosely on the shoulders. Also, Pamela Anderson has bangs that are messy and casually framing her face. Swirling strands and updo messy curls are important – so a little bit of glam and a little bit of grunge.
Twist some messy curls into your hair and tie it all in a higher ponytail, skipping the bangs or two face-framing strands. Now tie the ponytail into a bun and pin it in place, leaving part of the hair ends open. These ends can be styled extra curly and then tucked chaotically into the bun. Now carefully pull the bun apart so that it becomes nice and fluffy and messy.
Complete the look by adding volume to the bangs with a curling iron or blow dryer. For the perfect finish, spray generously with hairspray. Striking eye make-up and large earrings à la Pam go well with the glamorous look.
