Between the square cut and the Shag cut, the Shaggy bob mixes two styles for a trendy look. The hairstyle is relaxed, the brushing natural while the neck is clear. Perfect fit this summer.
The bob cut has a new version in its ranks: the Shaggy bob. Halfway between the Shag cut and the classic bob, this short hair is a subtle blend of two on-trend styles that are hugely popular right now. If the bob cut is a basic hair that is recycled over the seasons, the Shag cut has experienced an astonishing revival in 2019.
Instagram: @kaiagerberWorn long, the original Shag plays on a degraded structure enhanced with tapered bangs. It is then textured by a wavy or curly styling. Lou Doillon or Charlotte Gainsbourg have made it their signature.
The Shaggy bob uses this principle but in a very shortened version to unfold in a relaxed square. A singular cut that contrasts with uniformity. The hair ends just below the ears. Enough to create a short square concentrated around the face that leaves the nape of the neck free. Like its big sister, the Shaggy bob is tapered and tousled for vintage and androgynous look. The staid and sophisticated brushing is forgotten in favor of shaggy and wild locks. We let the natural texture live for a less sanitized and more lively look.
Each season has its own haircut, but as the years go by, one of them wins every vote: the bob cut. It is even the most requested style in 2020. The year 2021 is already well started and it is a safe bet that the results will be the same.
The hair vintage is reflected every week in a new version of the bob: Outgrown bob, A-line bob, Modern Diana bob, Sliced bob… There is as much anglicism as there are styles. Enough to keep us away from the monotony and find the variant that suits us. It must be said that the square cut offers multiple possibilities. Far from being uniform, its length is hybrid and unique.
