Layered hair needs to be well thought out: Once the different lengths are in the hair, they are difficult to match. Step cuts in 2021 are more popular than ever - so it is worth taking a look at the trend forecast. How do we wear our hair in autumn 2021? Three step cuts are the hairstyle trend in the coming season - and three looks can now take a break.
We love the casual shag, so we can't talk directly about the fact that the tiered cut is out now. Nevertheless, the hairstyle trend is getting a modern update and will be worn as a so-called wolf cut in autumn 2021. While the layers of the classic shag are quite regular and give the entire hair volume, the focus of the layered hair in the wolf cut is on the top of the head. The hairstyle trend in autumn 2021 will be refined by fringed bangs that underline the layered hair.
Instagram: @daniellemarcanThe mullet was one of the most surprising hairstyle trends in spring 2021. As soon as you get used to the hair-technical 90ies revival, the layered cut takes a break again. The extremely layered hair is replaced by the Rachel Cut. This is also a phenomenon of the nineties and can now actually be worn again to match the “Friends” reunion. Fun fact: Jennifer Aniston wasn't a fan of the cut at all - two decades later, the hairstyle trend is enjoying great popularity again. The hair on the back of the head remains a little longer, the hair is cut in stages towards the front. This creates a harmonious overall picture.

If you have long hair but want a little more exercise, you should try Waterfall Layers. The step cut is comparatively inconspicuous but gives the hair lightness and volume. The hair is subtly layered from the middle, it is particularly effective with light waves. While, as in the past with the hairstyle trend Asymmetrical Layers, only the front strands that frame the face were tiered, the different lengths of the Waterfall Layers blend harmoniously into the look. In autumn 2021 we will add curtain bangs to the tiered cut for the ultimate 70ies look.
