The pandemic is above all a time to slow down. In the past year, convenience has found its way into fashion, beauty, and hair. Nonchalant hairstyles, thick approaches, and DIY ponies are absolutely suitable for everyday use and more than that: super trendy.
But that should change this year. At least if you believe the words of Chris Appleton. But we can indeed do that: the hairstylist counts the biggest celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Dua Lipa, and Kim Kardashian among his loyal customers. And according to Chris, the hairstyle trend in 2022 is the absolute opposite of decelerating ...
Just as you slowly get tired of sweatpants (who would have thought that this point would ever come?), You start to yearn for more styling and opulence again. That's why, according to Chris Appleton, a very special hairstyle trend is making a big splash this year, in the truest sense of the word: Barbie Hair.
The (admittedly: somewhat misleading) term does not mean blond hair, but sophisticated, voluminous, sweeping waves - with a lot of shine. Unlike other trending hairstyles, the glamorous look makes no secret of how much time, energy, and product has been spent on the hair. The perfectly styled Barbie hair is just that: perfectly styled. And everyone can admire that.
An online study by the market research institute Mindline in cooperation with the Schwarzkopf brand Taft shows that the hairstyle trend has great potential. Almost half of all women surveyed are less satisfied with their appearance during the lockdown than they were before. After all, there are hardly any reasons to put on something other than pajamas and spend a little time in front of the mirror - which can often be good for self-confidence.
And even if there won't be an opportunity to do the Barbie hair big in the near future, it's still fun to dress up a bit for no apparent reason. If we believe Chris's words, that will happen soon too...
