Hairstyling: A Voluminous Bun is So Easy

With the right styling, you can have a beautiful, voluminous bun in no time.

Whether you're having a bad hair day or want to add some sophistication to your mane, a bun is always a good idea. The hairstyle favorite keeps the hair out of the face and is also quite uncomplicated. However, to ensure that it stays nice and full throughout the day and does not collapse, it depends on the right styling.

On Instagram, we discovered a variant by hairstylist Chris Appleton, who styles stars such as Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, and Kim Kardashian, which not only succeeds in no time with two hair ties and a few hair clips but also gives the bun fabulous volume. That's how it's done:

Voluminous bun: this is how you succeed step by step

  1. Tie your hair into a high ponytail with a scrunchie.
  2. Divide the ponytail over the hair tie so that it is completely covered and secure the hair with another thin hair tie. Then carefully pull the bun apart with your fingers so that it gets some volume.
  3. Now divide the open hair lengths into two strands to the right and left. Twist each one in, cross both strands at the front and pin the ends with clips at the side or at the back (depending on the length of the hair).
  4. If you want, you can finally shape the fine hairs around the face. Fix everything with some hairspray, done.
