When it comes to washing your hair, opinions are divided. One faction swears by washing their hair very seldom and claims to use it to educate the hair to clean itself. Then there are those people who cannot do without washing their hair every day and who firmly believe that it is the key to healthy and shiny hair. But how much or how little washing is really good for your hair? We reveal how often, according to experts, you should wash your hair and how to do it correctly.
The answer to what is good for our hair when it comes to washing is more complex. How often we should wash our hair depends entirely on its structure. For example, particularly thick and curly hair tends to be dry and thin, fine hair quickly becomes greasy. For fine, thin hair, experts, therefore, recommend washing your hair daily. The scalp, or rather the sebum glands on the scalp, are the biggest cause of hair becoming greasy. The rest are environmental factors. This is why fine, thin hair roots are more affected by oily sebum glands than thick or curly hair. On the other hand, they would dry out with a daily wash, as their roots do not absorb the oil from the sebum glands as much. Here, the professionals recommend washing your hair only every three days.

If you pay attention to a few little tricks when washing your hair, you can actually ensure that hair does not dry out, prevent split ends and strengthen the hair roots. You should pay attention to the following things when washing your hair:
One should concentrate on the scalp during a wash. You can use more shampoo because the scalp produces a lot more dirt than our hair itself. Then concentrate on the hair in the second wash. You should distribute the shampoo evenly on all parts of the hair - from the roots to the tips of the hair - and be able to massage the scalp a little.
You should rinse the strands of hair thoroughly with the water jet from the roots to the tips with the shower head and repeat this process at least five times because: If shampoo residues remain, this can damage the hair permanently, pull it down and create a greasy look.
Extra hair care products should not be used with every wash in order not to over-care for the hair. This can make the hair look heavy and oily. So use a conditioner or a hair mask at most every third hair wash.
